National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health

A new 10-section medical cannabis webpage was created which provides an overview (for physicians and all
professional caregivers) on the use of cannabis and its components as a treatment for people with cancer-related symptoms
caused by the disease itself or its treatment as an adjunct to traditional treatment or as a stand-alone treatment.
The potential effects of medicinal cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain
relief, and improved sleep. In the practice of integrative oncology the health care provider may recommend medicinal cannabis
not only for symptom management but also for its possible direct anti-tumor effect."
